😎 This Oregon beach ranked the best in the US for a digital detox
While most travel destinations brag about their high-speed Wi-Fi, Oregon’s rugged southern coast is winning awards for having no signal at all. According to a new study by Beach.com, Secret Beach in Curry County, Oregon, has been ranked as the #1 beach in the United States for a "digital detox."
Why Oregon Swept the Rankings
The study analyzed over 800 beaches, weighing factors like federal broadband data, mobile coverage, and commercial business density. Secret Beach earned a nearly perfect Digital Detox Score of 9.5 out of 10.
The "No Service" Feature: In Curry County, dropped bars aren't a glitch—they’re a landscape feature. Mobile coverage reaches only 52% of the county.
True Isolation: 74% of the county is protected land, and commercial noise is non-existent, with a staggering 0.3 businesses per square mile.
User Sentiment: One in five reviewers specifically mentions the "quiet and isolation" as the primary reason for visiting.
The report also highlighted Crescent Beach (located in Clatsop County’s Ecola State Park). While Secret Beach took the top spot for data metrics, Crescent Beach had the highest user-review sentiment, with 38% of visitors using "digital detox" keywords to describe their experience.
What This Means for STR Investors
For those investing in the area, this report confirms a massive 2026 travel trend: Isolation is the new luxury. Properties located near these "dead zones" are no longer at a disadvantage; they are positioned as elite retreats for the 70% of Americans who say they want to unplug on vacation.
If you’re scouting properties in the area, Secret Beach is tucked away in the Samuel H. Boardman State Scenic Corridor. The trail entrance is located roughly 1/3 mile south of milepost 345 on U.S. Highway 101.
