This episode we wanted to highlight our biggest challenge in helping clients’ invest in and purchase short-term rental (AIRBNB) vacation properties on the Oregon Coast: Lack of Inventory.

Here is a short list of how many properties are actively listed for sale (including short term rentals) in each city/county on the Oregon Coast as of late September 2026:

Gearhart: 24 SFR for sale and just FIVE STR permits remaining in particular areas.

Seaside: 49 Houses. 5 eligible STRs for sale including townhomes.

Cannon Beach: 30 Single Family Homes. A handful are eligible for vacation rental usages but they are limited to one guest every 14 days regardless of if the property currently operates with a ‘grandfathered’ unlimited use permit.

Manzanita: 12 Houses. Zero STRs. Current moratorium and licenses do not transfer.

Arch Cape: 6 SFR. A few can operate as STR but subject to a once per seven day occupancy restriction. No active county STR properties are currently listed for sale.
